in Community News, Duluth Police

The Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and the Duluth Police Department Violent Crimes Unit arrested two men identified in a shooting that took place in the 100 block of East 3rd Street on May 22, shortly after 7 p.m. The men were arrested after both were suspected of firing shots at a fleeing homicide suspect, Patrick Battees, following the fatal shooting of Juamada Keller Anderson Jr.

Just after 3:00 p.m. today, the Task Force and Duluth Police Investigators worked to locate a 17-year-old male suspect in the 100 block of East 3rd Street. During the arrest, police located a loaded semi-automatic pistol in the waistband of the individual. A second firearm was also found nearby during an incident related to the arrest. The individual was booked at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center on charges of reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm by an ineligible person and possession of a controlled substance.
